Pack Your Bags, This Ain't Disneyland
I got an email from TheBump.com the other day with a list of the Ten Things to do Before Baby Arrives. So far so good for Hubbs and I. A few things still left to tackle, i.e. installing carseat, packing hospital bags, most important things, etc. Which brings me to Today's topic of conversation... THE HOSPITAL BAG!!!!
What was in your bag?
Did you over pack?
What couldn't you live without?
What did you not even touch, and can be left out?
Of course I overpacked! I think everyone does! If u plan to breast feed, definitely take your boppy. Take change for vending machines and some snacks. I brought my own gown to wear afterward but did not use it (you will soon figure out why). Also I took makeup with high hopes that I would maintain my beauty routine but that sooooo did not happen. U need your basic toiletries (toothbrush, etc) and a comfy outfit to go home in. Oh you will also need granny panties (the grannier the better)!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I took my own pj's last time BUT I will be this time because I hated the hospital gown!! ugh! I applied make-up before I started pushing because I KNEW that people would come in taking pics and I did NOT want to look a mess! They put socks on you but I hated them, made me hot. Bring Tucker some of his clothes because you won't want him in those hospital clothes :) Shampoo, brush etc... My experience was they gave you mesh panties to put on because you wear they BIGGEST PAD you've ever seen for like EVER!!! The "bed" they have for Drew is horrible so make sure he brings his comforts from home so he can sleep too!
ReplyDeleteThe boppy made breastfeeding easier to learn for me. They are right on with the underwear! We brought Carter special clothes and a special blanket. (made it easier for fam to spot him in the window) I brought my own pjs for the next day. You probably won't want your own for delivery (obviously) and a nursing bra (if you need it). If it makes you feel better, there wasn't anything we took that we didn't use! Wish I would have brought a nursing
ReplyDeletebra though. You may want your own pillow. Just depends on how picky your are about a pillow. Your Hubbs may totally want his own though. Good luck girl! So excited for you!
