Little Baby.. Big Blessing..

It's Saturday night.. 11 pm(ish) CST.. I'm at Stacy's wedding reception, dancing my booty off and owning the dance floor. I take a break to check my cell phone, because Vanessa had let me know earlier in the week that her pregnancy was nearing the end. She was "progressing" towards delivery. I was a nervous pervis. I just knew that she would go into labor in the middle of the ceremony and I would be so very sad. I digress.. I dig out my phone to find not one but TWO texts.. one from Nessa and one from Lash (her husband) they were at the hospital and things were moving right along. I call and chat them up and decide to leave out first thing Sunday morning to get there hopefully before she does. Lucky for me Sophia looooves her Aunt KK and arrived about 30 or less minutes after I did! She already has me wrapped around her little fingers! Vanessa has been one of my closest friends for about 5 or 6 years now. We've lived together, stood beside each other on our BIG DAYS and now.. I was able to be there as she started the newest chapter of her life.. Motherhood. Sophia Faye is such a blessing and I already love her so very much. And seeing Vanessa become a mother has made me love her even more than I thought was possible.  I've been a big cry baby since Sunday and I blame it on the joy joy joy joy down in my heart. Congratulations Mike and Vanessa Lashlee on your beautiful baby girl !!!!

The Hubbs and I arrived in Murfreesboro on Friday just in time for rehearsal. The weather was perfect, every one was in good spirits and we were ready to get this show on the road and get these kids married!

After rehearsal we were treated to a delicious dinner and then shipped off in our separate ways for the last night of freedom. The girls all headed to Stacy's apartment for a sleepover... complete with finger nail painting, Say Yes to the Dress and gossip. 

The next morning we rose bright and early to head back to the Country Club. We had been giving Stacy a hard time about being calm the night before and most of the morning.. that's when Nana called... FINALLY... a small emotional breakdown. haha I chased Stacy through her apartment with my camera trying to capture her first bridal  tears of the day.. She wasn't pleased...

After hair and make-up the last minute preparations began.. Steaming, Cards, Touch-ups.. I found Stacy's veil (chapel length) wadded up in a ball and shoved into a shopping bag.. not kidding. It was a mess.

Then it was time for the dress... Funny side note.. Stacy's dress zipped AND buttoned.. yes, those beautiful satin covered bridal gown buttons.. They are a pain the you..know..where.. Luckily, we discovered a trick the day of Stacy's bridal portraits to speed up the process. We used a rat-tail comb. Literally cuts the time in half!! And saves my sanity..

This was THE FUNNEST WEDDING EVER!! The Taylor's managed to pull together the most entertaining wedding party. We all had such a great time. The day was filled with love and laughter.. and most of all.. DANCING....

Our Big Fat Anniversary

We celebrated our 1st Anniversary this weekend in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Since I just started a new job in March I don't have any vacation time built up yet. So we took a little quick trip east. We stayed a the Riverstone Resort & Spa. Highly recommend this place if you are going to be in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg!! It was quiet, spacious and offers everything!! 

We did the Forge and GBurg up right. We conquered every ride at Dollywood (no green faces) and managed to vist the Burg without walking away with any fudge, funnel cakes or airbrushed t-shirts. I was able to snap some shots before the trusty ole Nikon died. (I really need to be more "camera prepared")

Sidenote: We pitstopped in Turkey Creek on the way home and had a late lunch at Cru, if you haven't been there check it out. Great food. Great service. We'll definitely be visiting again!!

We decided since we were taking a trip then we would forgo gifts. At least, that's what we said. Hahaha

The 1st Anniversary gift is paper, so after some researching I came up with this.

I printed it out with the help of the folks at Office Max and framed it. Now I'm searching for the perfect spot in the house to display it.
